Tox-Away Day &
Tire Amnesty Day


Mark you calendars for the following annual recycling & collection day events!

Tox-Away Day-Saturday, September 11, 2010 from 9:00am until 2:30pm.  Location to be announced two weeks prior to the event.  Bring us your unwanted household hazardous waste chemicals to this one-day event for recycling and proper disposal.  Minimal fees apply.

Tire Amnesty Day-Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 9:00am until 12:00pm.  Location to be announced two weeks prior to the event.  Bring us your old and unwanted tires for recycling.  Neighborhood Association must pre-register.

The Allen County Solid Waste Management District is looking for your input and feedback. Allen County residents are strongly encouraged to take the Districts short survey.  Click here to participate!  Your opinions will help the District continue to improve their recycling and waste reduction programs.

New Recycling Location  

     

A new recycling drop-off location has opened in the parking lot behind Kroger at Southgate Plaza.  Residents can continue to recycle glass, plastics #1 & #2, metal cans and paper products free of charge at any of the six locations around town.

Residents can continue to recycle their fluorescent bulbs for free at any of the eight locations around Allen County.  Please click here for more details.

Composting is natures way of recycling.  There are two composting facilities in Fort Wayne where residents can take yard waste for composting.  Compost is also available for the taking.  Click here for more information.
